Larry Dickens grew up in Horseheads, NY and graduated with a B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. In 2015 he completed a 40-year maritime career where he spent most of his seagoing time aboard liquefied natural gas supertankers operating in the Orient, as well as shoreside as a shipowner's representative in the Middle East and an LNG marine consultant. Prior to retirement, he held an unlimited oceans master's license issued by the USCG.
In addition to writing purposeful children's/YA novels (Forever Ten,
Mrs. McGillacuddy's Garden Party), he writes contemporary sea novels (Tropical Depression, Gone with the Breeze). A long time resident of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, he now lives in the Savannah, Georgia area with his wife, artist Susan Prislopski. He gladly welcomes your thoughts about his books and can be reached at sulindhillpress@gmail.com.
